American Legion Post 21 McMinnville, Oregon 126 NE Atlantic Avenue, 97128-9005 503 435-2218
Vietnam Veteran Memorial Pins were presented to eight qualifying service members at the February 15th General Membership meeting.
If you served on active duty during the Vietnam Era (November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975) regardless of location you are eligible, you do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin.
The Post will be handing out pins to all eligible members at upcoming meetings and during the service breakfast events. If you are eligible, please contact either Commander Gale Sears or 1st Vice Larry Brown.
To the Membership:
To those members who have paid their dues and are getting Past Due Notices, please know that if you have paid your dues and have your 2017 Card, your dues are paid!
These notices are coming from National in Illinois, NOT from Post 21. District has had some personnel issues and they are about six months behind in getting dues sent to National. Once you receive your card, your dues are then sent to District where they are processed in about a month, they then are sent to National where they are processed again in about a month.
National sends out PAST DUE NOTICES every quarter so if you have paid your dues within the last six months, you will probably receive a Past Due Notice from National.
I apologize if this is upsetting, this is an archaic procedure but Post 21 has no control over the way dues are processed. Please be patient.
